"No Room For Jesus"
December 22, 2024 | By Chuck
“And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:6-7) We know this part of the story well. There was no room for Mary, her husband, and soon-to-be-born son in the inn. The birth of the Son of our Creator God would basically be born outside among animals. There was no extra bed and no one was willing to help a woman who was soon to give birth. No room for Jesus.
When I consider the current events and the tendency of our modern culture, I wonder if there is room for Jesus today. The world today has seemingly cut Jesus out, as if to say there is no room. Are we so busy that we have no room for Jesus in our lives? This holiday season, as busy, stressful, and tiresome as it is, may we make room for Jesus in our lives. As a new year approaches, consider ways you can make room for Jesus in your daily life. What does that look like? Is it prayer, keeping up with your reading in The Story, or making sure that Bible class and worship are priorities?
