"How Are You And The Lord?"
January 13, 2025 | By Chuck
Has anyone ever asked you, how are you and the Lord? It may seem to be an odd question, but I believe it has relevance. In fact, I believe it has eternal relevance. The question beckons personal spiritual inventory. Spiritual inventory is taking a long and honest look at your own spiritual growth and progress, or lack thereof. True and honest spiritual inventory requires us to ask ourselves some poignant questions.
How is my relationship with God? How is my prayer life? Do I make it a point to pray daily and even multiple times a day? Do I read the Bible daily, or has the Bible become just another app on my phone or decorative piece on the coffee table? How is my worship attendance? Is worship a priority in my life? How involved am I in the church? Am I using my gift or gifts to be involved and serve the Lord’s church?
Peter writes, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (II Peter 3:18) If we desire spiritual growth in our lives, we must take a spiritual assessment of our current spiritual life. I am not asking you those tough questions listed above, I am asking myself and encouraging you to ask yourself and assess where you are spiritually. This new year is the perfect time to make the needed adjustments to your spiritual life that will help you grow. So, I’ll ask you, how are you and the Lord?
