"Complete Chaos"

Chaos is defined as a state of utter confusion and disorder. I think we can all identify with chaos to some degree. It seems our world exists today in a state of chaos. We are seeing things I’ve never seen before in my lifetime. Some of these things I never even thought about before and certainly never envisioned would become societal issues. At a recent lunch with two preacher friends, I was shown a couple of pictures of girls whom I did not know, nor could I recognize as female. These two young ladies had begun the transition process from female to male.

If that isn’t bothersome enough, I’m bothered you aren’t shocked by this. I’m bothered you have seen similar pictures and countless other pictures and stories like these exist today. All of this screams chaos! I’m in no way making fun of anyone; I’m honestly trying to understand all of it amid the chaos it presents. Questions like how and why come to mind. What happened? How did we get so far off track?

One problem with all this we are seeing today is the world does not see any of it as a problem. It’s fine and more than okay and even normal if you want to transition from a female to a male or vice versa. The world may say it’s okay and may even push it as an agenda to our young people, but we all better notice the complete chaos it is breeding. Husbands and wives and moms and dads and even whole families are in utter chaos because those pictures are of their little girl or big sister. No one is passing judgment; I honestly feel sorry for those who feel the need to transition and their families.

How did we get here? What led to this? Oh, I’m sure these questions have been asked hundreds of times. I’m not cracking any code here; I’m simply stating the obvious. We turned away from God. Our world and our society for many years have grown farther and farther away from God. The farther we move away from God, the more ungodly our world becomes.

When society shuts the light of God out, it opens the door to the darkness of Satan. The most grievous, heinous, and deeply immoral sins survive and thrive in Satan’s darkness. Things we could never have imagined are happening in our world today because we have grown so far away from God. When you turn away from God, even the most despicable sins are accepted without embarrassment or condemnation. Why are we so shocked by what we see? After all, since the fall of man in Genesis 3 the world has grown farther and farther away from God and more and more sinful. The world was so corrupt during the days of Noah that God brought a worldwide flood to destroy all the wicked people. Even after the flood, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah became so wicked God destroyed them with raining sulfur and fire. (Genesis19:24-25)

I can only imagine a world in chaos during the days of the flood and when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Complete chaos is what we see today and we are shocked, offended, and even ask why. Could it be we are reaping what we have sown? Should we have seen all this chaos coming? “For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:8) So, what do we do; how do we clear the chaos? We run as hard and as fast as we can back to God.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
