"Confidence In Salvation"

January 13, 2021 | By Chuck

I am saved is a bold and confident statement. Some are uncomfortable with that statement because they’re uncomfortable with that level of confidence in one’s personal salvation. I suppose I’m a little more uncomfortable with the reality that plenty of faithful Christians aren’t certain of their future eternal destination. I’m all for surprises, don’t they just make laugh more fun, but I don’t want to be surprised when it comes to my salvation. I want to know without a doubt and with complete confidence that I am saved and I believe Christians should.
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life” (I Jno.5:13). According to John, Christians can have full confidence in their salvation. What a blessing it is to know for sure that you have heaven. No worries, no surprises, heaven is definitely in the future of the faithful Christian. Having confidence in our salvation should motivate us to get involved and serve in the church. There is no greater gift than the eternal salvation of our souls. To know confidently that we are saved should encourage us all to remain faithful to our Lord.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom.8:1).
