"The Most Joyful Time of The Year......For Some"
December 12, 2022 | By Chuck
Christmas is a week away and is one of the most popular times of the year. Some people spend the whole year anxiously anticipating the arrival of Christmas. Many enjoy the decorations, the cooking, the gifts, and even the special songs that are sung at Christmas. Christmas is a time for family. Families gather for special meals, exchange gifts, view Christmas decorations, and just be together. It seems like the most wonderful and joyful time of year. A little less work and a lot more family and friends; sounds perfect, right?
I think for many Christmas time is perfect and the most joyful time of year, but not for everyone. For some this year has been long and difficult, and the thought of Christmas festivities is not too exciting. Some have lost loved ones this year and dread this first Christmas without them. We all know how difficult it is to lose a close family member. It seems that grief is magnified even more during the holidays because we cannot be with the loved one we miss. Christmas may never be the same for those who have suffered a loss. So, as you gather with family to celebrate Christmas this year, take a minute to think of our brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones and say a prayer for them.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psa. 147:3).
