"Peace With God"

December 04, 2020 | By Chuck

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom.5:1). Peace with God is one of the greatest benefits of the Christian’s life. We have peace with God from the time we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus at baptism.
That powerful cleansing blood of our Savior not only washes our sins away but also brings us into a peaceful relationship with our creator. Peace with God says that I can approach my heavenly Father in prayer anytime. Peace with God means that I’m on the winning team, God’s team.
Since Christians have peace with God, they also have the peace of God. There is a peace we receive from God simply because we have peace with God. “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil.4:6-7). The beautiful thing about this peace from God is that it’s always present in the Christian’s life. When life becomes discouraging and a bit overwhelming as it can at times, there is still peace from God. What a comfort it is to know that as a Christian I can always have peace from God even in the face of the most challenging circumstances.
World peace or just peace in our country doesn’t only hinge on who’s in the White House. If we truly want a peaceful existence in this life, mankind must first submit to the King of Kings and have peace with Him. Peace with God will promote and even instigate peace with others. Do your part to promote peace and make sure you pursue peace with God.
