"Jesus, Our High Priest"

It seems we put a lot of hope and trust in our world leaders today. We get so serious about the ones we support, thinking they are the answer. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in the importance of true godly leadership. The truth about human leaders is just that, they’re human. All humans, no matter how educated or what position they hold, are fallible and will mess things up at times. Because of this very real issue, I’m very thankful for the one true leader that we can always count on. My trust and hope are in Jesus, our high priest.
“Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb.4:14-16). Jesus, our high priest, has experienced heaven and earth, so he’s able to sympathize with our struggles. Jesus understands temptation as he too was tempted, he just never yielded to sin. I’m thankful for a high priest who knows us, leads us and is there to help us when we are in need.
