"I'm Not A Hater, I'm A Believer"

I want to be completely honest, transparent and upfront with everyone by saying, I DON’T HATE ANYONE. I just don’t and I won’t. No matter how others view me or treat me, I don’t hate them. If they agree with me or disagree with me, I don’t hate them. I want to drive home the point that I don’t hate. Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not a hater.
What I am is a believer. I’m a strong believer in God and His holy and inspired Word, the Bible. I believe the Bible is God’s message for us even today and that it teaches, encourages and corrects us. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”(II Timothy 3:16-17). Sadly, because I’m a believer there are those who automatically frame me as a hater. Why? Because as a believer I disagree with the lifestyle choices of some today.
I believe from the very beginning God has taught us through His Word how He expects us to live. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh”(Genesis 2:24). God created the marriage relationship and He designed it to be for a man and woman. According to the Bible, same sex marriage and homosexuality is a sin and therefore not pleasing to God.(Rom.1:26-27) Now that I’ve put that in print and it’s out there for all to see, I’ll be labeled a hater. How sad, because the truth is I love homosexuals and those in same sex marriages. Yes, I believe it’s wrong and a sin, but I love them. I’m not a hater.
When I speak the truth of God’s Word I do so out of love. Love for God and His Word and love for those who are and who are not living according to God’s standard. How is that hatred? It’s considered hatred because I disagree with those who choose that lifestyle. Just because we disagree doesn’t mean we hate each other. Everyone has a right to live however they choose, if it’s according to God’s standard or not. Everyone also has the right to their own convictions and to disagree with the choices of others. I write this for the same reason I preach, so that men and women will turn to God. I’m not a hater, I’m a believer.
