"From Control To Trust"

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”(Prov.3:5-6). Most of us realize our need to trust in God and in Him only. The problem tends to be that we like to be in control ourselves. From the television remote control to which restaurant we’ll eat at, we want to be in control. We want complete control of our lives and our kid’s lives. The problem is when we demand such control we trust in ourselves instead of God.
So, how do control hungry people learn to trust God? You may love God and His church but until you relinquish control you will never fully trust God. I think sometimes we have too much trust in ourselves. When we are control hungry, we are not trusting God by giving Him control. We think we know best, but God really does know best. The wisest thing you and I can do as Christians, spouses and parents is turn over complete control of our lives to God. When we accept how little control we actually have and turn it over to God, then we will trust Him with all of our heart.
