"Angry All The Time"

“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God”(Jas.1:19-20). Christians should be most interested in producing the righteousness of God in their lives. Producing righteousness is living a life that honors and pleases God. Righteousness is right living and living for God instead of yourself. This has everything to do with how we act, treat and respond to others.
One key factor that will help us to live righteous lives is being “slow to anger”. James teaches that man’s anger “does not produce the righteousness of God”. James is in no way saying it’s wrong to get angry. We all get angry at times, but hopefully that anger is justified and handled the right way. Being slow to anger says I will be patient with others and not get angry over every little thing. How can one live a righteous life for God when they are constantly angry about something? Be slow to anger because it’s our anger that leads us to unrighteous practices.
There are plenty of things that make me angry, I just make it a point not to allow myself to get angry over unimportant or insignificant matters. If you spend much of your time angry, you can’t be a happy person or lead a righteous life that honors God. Could it be that a person who is angry about everything is a little too self-absorbed? Life’s too short to be angry all the time. So, get your eyes off yourself and be slow to anger so that you can produce a righteous God honoring life.
