"A Spiritual Heart Transplant"
April 21, 2022 | By Chuck
I’m blown away by modern medical technology. It’s hard to wrap my mind around all of the medical procedures doctors are able to do today. I’ve known plenty of people over the years who have had some kind of heart procedure. Some only required a stint, while others needed a complete open-heart surgery. I don’t recall ever knowing anyone who received a heart transplant, but they are performed and, apparently, often. I read that there are over 3,500 heart transplant procedures done a year worldwide. I’m impressed and very thankful for the abilities of modern medicine.
God wants our heart. When we give our lives to Jesus, a spiritual heart transplant should occur. That’s when Jesus begins to rule our hearts. A physical heart transplant is life-changing giving the individual new hope. A spiritual heart transplant is also life-changing; giving one hope because of Jesus who now rules their heart. When God has our heart, He has our whole life and it becomes evident to those around us. A spiritual heart transplant totally transforms our life from the inside out and the results are things like peace, joy, contentment, and love for others.
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
