"Can Others See Your Faith?"

October 14, 2021 | By Chuck

Sometimes I wonder if Christians hide their faith in a secret part of their lives.  Don’t misunderstand, they are definitely on a faith journey and want to live a faithful life to God, but they desperately want to keep that part of their life private.  I don’t know if it’s fear of ridicule and persecution or simply embarrassment of others knowing they’re a Christian.  Over the years I have often wondered if someone watched my life on the big screen for one whole day, would it be evident that I’m a Christian.   Is it obvious that I’m a man of faith and love the Lord?  Would others be able to see my faith?

People around us, from acquaintances to friends and family, see our faith by our actions.  A Christian’s faith should be seen in how he or she reacts to both victory and disappointment.  Our faith should shine through life’s hardships and times of grief.  My faith should be clearly seen in how I speak and how I treat others.  The places I go and the activities I take part in will either demonstrate my faith or cause others to question it.  The Christian lives every day by faith and makes daily decisions based on his or her faith.  Others should see your faith.

“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household.  By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith” (Heb. 11:7).  Every single day and with each drop of sweat that went into building the ark, Noah showed his faith.  There’s no doubt that others saw Noah’s faith.
