No Limits (2/3)

We’re in week two of No Limits and will be focusing on Moses again this week. Moses had real doubts about himself as a person – something almost everyone will struggle with sometime in life. What better time than the teenage years to talk about the necessity of dependence on God? As you approach this week with your students, think about one time in your life when God, not yourself, proved to be the difference. Have a great week!

Sunday Morning –
Modesty – Rob Gerst (3/3)
With summer coming up Rob is going to talk about modesty for the next 3 weeks.  He's going to be covering:  God's attitude toward sex and lust vs. desire.  How Jesus dealt with sexual sinners and spend some time answering questions.

Hooked (1/2)
This week we’re starting a new series called Hooked. This one is about temptation and this week specifically we want to help our students learn to identify the hidden dangers behind the temptations they face. With a new mindset, your guys and gals can be much better equipped to make better choices.

Sunday Morning –
Senior High – T. J. Davidson

Dollars and Sense – (3/3)

Teens will learn the basics of money: how to budget, manage a checking account, and spend wisely. They’ll also see the benefits of saving for the future, giving to the church and giving to those in need—and why it’s important to start right away! Lastly, teens will begin to recognize the difference between a need and a want and plan accordingly.

Junior High – Paul Killingsworth
Money Matters – (3/3)

Teens will discover that their identity isn’t wrapped up in what the world says about them, but what God says about them. They’ll gain confidence to stand up against clever marketing and find value in contentment, realizing that it’s not about how much money you have, but what you do with that money that matters.

We all want to be known, but we don't ever really know anybody. Deep down we all keep things from people, and we know they do the same to us. But then, there's God. God knows everything and sees everyone. Instead of striving to be known, we should strive to know the one who knows all and allows us to begin to be known by others.

Sunday Morning
Junior High – Scott Patterson
The Story (3/3)
This week we are looking at the beginning of the church. Some questions we will be discussing:

– Is the Holy Spirit still at work today? How have you experienced him or seen him at work?
– Why do you think Jesus’ message spread quickly?
– How was Paul’s life dramatically changed?

Senior High – T. J. Davidson
Unholy Scriptures (3/3)
Teens today are being exposed to more and more in every area of life. Because of this, some have questioned the integrity of the Bible. They have been told that there are other reliable accounts of Jesus’ life that the church ignored. They have been told the church has manufactured a portrait of Jesus by picking and choosing what to include. However, the Bible we have contains the only inspired and accurate accounts of Jesus and true Christianity. Very early and very quickly the church as a whole started to separate the inspired writings from the non-inspired writings.

Wednesday Night – Guest Speaker (Jackson Byrd lead singing)
We have a special guest speaker this Wednesday night and I am super excited. Parents you are invited to come and listen to what she has to say also. Here is what she says about herself and what she will be talking about:

I'm Sarah Brown, Executive Director of Lonoke County Safe Haven. I LOVE speaking truth to and with teens – we all need to hear it – and recognize it. One of the big things I talk with teens about is the definition of dating – to be successful AT ANYTHING – we have to have purpose (winning ball games / acing tests – all of it) – we even need purpose to dating to be successful at relationships. And when we have goals set in place – it makes it easier to keep our eyes on our goals. And those goals help us keep clear minds amidst all of the distractions of the media and world views. God has a plan for us – we just have to be patient and the world doesn't support that idea – again – goals must be established.

Sunday Morning
JH  The Story – 2/3
This week we are looking at the resurrection of Jesus. We are discussing questions like:
– When Jesus appeared to people after his resurrection, how do you think their lives were changed?
– What does Jesus’ resurrection from the dead reveal about God’s power over death and sin? What might this mean for your life?
– Before Jesus went up to heaven, he commanded his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations.” What do you think this mean?

SH  Unholy Scriptures – 2/3
This week’s lesson is a continuation from last week. Many teens don’t think the Bible is reliable because they think mistakes got into the text through hundreds of years of copies. However, we have evidence that through hundreds of years of copying the text stayed the exact same and we also know that through their strict guidelines they are able to accurately reconstruct the original.
